Artis pheno
Robotic-assisted interventional angiography system

 Industrial Design Performance
+ Industrial Design for patient table and medical robots
+ Industrial Design for a new product system (new product)
+ Development of the housing concept
+ Product graphics and colour scheme

 Technical Requirements
+ Consideration of most important aspects of medical engineering
+ Consideration of the manufacturing process
+ Incorporation of technical components

Product
In designing ARTIS pheno, at-design had to overcome the conflict presented by placing an industrial robot in a medical environment. The medical robot Artis pheno, an Industrial Design creation of at-design, stands out owing to its simplicity, logic and dynamism. The design lends the industrial robot a sensuous, discrete and comprehensible appearance.

Ultimately, Artis pheno embodies an optimal symbiosis between functionality and Industrial Design in a medical environment and keeps the focus on the person.

Artis icono ceiling
Ceiling-mounted angiography system

 Industrial Design Performance
+ Industrial design for a new product system (new product)
+ Development of the housing concept
+ Product graphics and colour scheme

 Technical requirements
+ Consideration of most important aspects of medical engineering
+ Consideration of the manufacturing process
+ Incorporation of technical components

Product
At at-design our guiding principle is “logic simplicity” in industrial design. The multitude of functionally dependent components is characteristic of the Artis icono ceiling robot system. Their integration into at-design’s industrial design and the creation of a core theme was crucial. The reduction of complexity is typical of the ceiling-mounted Artis icono angiography system.

Ideal synergy is achieved between at-design’s industrial design and the technical requirements. Artis icono ceiling represents a self-explanatory product language.
“ARTIS icono ceiling: an icon of innovation(Quote from Siemens Healthineers).

FUJIFILM medwork GmbH

Pure White – Product Line
Medical instruments for therapeutic endoscopies

 Industrial Design Performance
+ Industrial Design for a new product
+ Improvement in ergonomics and functionality
+ Visualisation of safety and precision
+ Colour scheme

 Technical Requirements
+ Consideration of most important aspects of medical engineering
+ Consideration of the manufacturing process (material reduction)
+ Increase in flexibility in the manufacturing process through reduction in number of components

Product
The technical emphasis on functional surfaces and controls forms the basis for the characteristic design language of the design for the “Pure White” product range developed by at-design. The enlarged handle areas provide enhanced ergonomics, increase the functionality and improve safety when using the products thanks to optimised tactile feedback.

The aspiration of at-design to put the user and the functionality at the heart of the design ensures a harmonious overall appearance that is easily recognisable.

Artis icono
Bi-plane (2-level) angiography system

 Industrial Design Performance
+ Industrial Design for patient table, Artis icono floor and bi-plane
+ Industrial Design for a new product system (new product)
+ Development of the housing concept
+ Product graphics and colour scheme

 Technical Requirements
+ Consideration of most important aspects of medical engineering
+ Consideration of the manufacturing process
+ Incorporation of technical components

Product
The multitude of functionally dependent components is characteristic of the Artis icono robot system. The reduction of the discernible complexity is typical of the bi-plane Artis icono angiography system designed by at-design. Functions within the system are also supported by the Industrial Design.

The fundamental principle of at-design to focus primarily on the person , which is conveyed through the principle of “logic through simplicity”, and in particular the development of a product language fit for the system, ensures a consistent and comprehensible overall appearance.

IBA Dosimetry GmbH

myQA Daily
Measuring device for radiotherapy

 Industrial Design Performance
+ Industrial Design for product development
+ Outlining device functions
+ Product graphics

 Technical Requirements
+ Consideration of the manufacturing processes (milling technology)
+ Consideration of the device function
+ Incorporation of technical components

Product
at-design developed the Industrial Design of the measuring device “myQA Daily” for IBA Dosimetry GmbH. The Industrial Design was developed taking into account common milling techniques. at-design’s aim was to align the housing design with the adjustment and measurement sensor technology. A smooth housing contour was used in an otherwise simple, functional housing design. The colour of the housing follows the design.

A focused Industrial Design which does justice to the high-tech function of the device was created with the motto “less is more”.

Siemens AG

HiMed Cockpit pro+
Patient terminal

 Industrial Design Performance
+ Industrial Design for monitors und handheld devices
+ Ergonomics / Usability
+ Product graphics

 Technical Requirements
+ Consideration of the manufacturing process
+ Consideration of most important aspects of medical engineering
+ Incorporation of technical components

Product
At-design conceived the HiMed Cockpit pro+ for Siemens AG. The crucial factor in the design was the ease of use for professionals and non-professionals alike, with the device being used directly at the patient’s bedside. In addition, the aim was to develop an Industrial Design that is suitable for all age groups.

Through the “readable”, friendly design by at-design, inhibitions about using the device should be avoided, but a professional character should be maintained.

Siemens Healthcare GmbH

Multitom Rax
Robotic X-ray system

Industrial Design Performance
+ Technical integration into the existing product portfolio
+ Visualisation of safety and precision
+ Development of the housing concept
+ Product graphics and colour scheme

 Technical Requirements
+ Consideration of most important aspects of medical engineering
+ Consideration of the manufacturing process
+ Incorporation of technical components

Product
The robotically operated Multitom Rax X-ray system consists of a ceiling-mounted emitter unit and the patient table. The technical focus that at-design incorporated into the Industrial Design in the 3 main function modules (detector, tube and table) reduces the perceptible complexity of the system. The positioning of the controls and display elements simplifies operation in the day-to-day clinical workflow.

at-design’s aim was to achieve longevity and quality in a medical environment through the use of a precise and logical Industrial Design.
